Independent film exhibition is a profession, without a dedicated degree or diploma! That’s where the International Confederation of Arthouse Cinemas (CICAE) Arthouse Cinema Training steps in.
Now in its 23rd year, the training brought together 58 participants from an astonishing 25 countries on four continents.
Over the course of packed seven days, these participants shared business plans, accessibility metrics, programming visions and more, all while taking in detailed lectures, inspiring cinema site visits, and even doing some session homework!
It seems just about everywhere around the world is seeing renewed interest in going to the movies – and choosing the local spot with interesting film selections. As we see more pressure on our shared cultural spaces, it’s more important than ever to keep them vibrant and expanding the horizons of what cinemas can do.
